1 May to 10 Maay 2008
Itinerary:
Day 1 SINGAPORE – LUXOR (Meals on Board/Dinner)
Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, proceed to enjoy your River Nile cruise.
Day 2 LUXOR – EDFU (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
This morning, visit the Temple of Luxor, built during Amenhotep II’s reign with 6 looming statues of Pharaoh Rameses II at the entrance.
Then proceed to Karnak Temple, which is dedicated to the god Amon and his family, and be overwhelmed by its architectural intricacy and proportions.
Continue your journey to the Valley of the Kings, located on the west bank and nestled amidst desert mountains, to visit the tombs of the kings. Pass the Colossi of Memnon to view the 2 seated figures of Amenhotep III.
Next, visit the amazing Temple of Queen Hatshepsut built in 3 broad columned terraces against the backdrop of cliffs. Thereafter, embark on your cruise and sail southwards to Edfu.
Day 3 EDFU – KOM OMBO – ASWAN (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Continue to enjoy your cruise to Edfu. On the way, enjoy the beautiful scenes of an ancient village where time has stood still on the banks of the Nile.
After passing through the locks at Esna, arrive in Edfu and transfer by kalesh, an Egyptian horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus which is dedicated to the Falcon God. One of Egypt’s remaining great monuments, this temple took over 200 years to be built.
Continue sailing southwards to Kom Ombo to visit the Ptolemaic Temple which is shared by two gods, Sobek and Horus. Tonight, enjoy Egyptian cuisine and a galabia-themed party onboard the cruise.
Day 4 ASWAN (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Aswan is one of the world’s best-known winter resorts. Visit the ancient granite quarries and the enormous Unfinished Obelisk which lies attached to a great granite mass.
View the Old Dam and the High Dam which provide irrigation and electricity to the whole of Egypt.
Take a boat ride to the beautiful Temple of Philae, which rises from the waters of the Nile on the Island of Isis. Sail around the Elephantine Islands in a traditional felucca and view the Aga Khan Mausoleum on the west bank of the Nile.
Day 5 ASWAN – ABU SIMBEL – ASWAN – CAIRO (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Just down the escarpment from the pyramids, you will come face to face with the Sphinx. Conclude your visit to the pyramids with a fun camel ride
