Art and Science of Flirting and Body Language
The art of flirting is expressed with actions. But non-verbal communication is more important than words.
Artful dance makes poss for strangers to become comfortable with each oth, even at their 1st exchange of words. Ppl become at ease with oth when they find the oth person pleasant. Ppl appear pleasant as a result of showing interest in oth.
1. Eye Contact and Triangulation
- actions (body language) reflects our interest in various ways
- above actions generally manifest by instinct when we are facing ppl tt we admire
[eg] ppl usually look at each oth's eyes in intmate conversation
- triangular formation of vision = shift vision from one eye to the oth and to nose bridge
- triangular formation extends downward when one becomes more interested in another
- Some really can’t help to look at oth's body when they feel attracted
- look at their eyes when talk to mere acquaintances
- tend to notice a lot more than just the eyes and nose. Also look at the oth's mouth can suggest interest in kissing when one is interested in anoth
2. Mirroring
- can make oth feel comfortable by mirroring or matching their mood
- tend to move in sync with each oth when both enjoy similar things
- only mean their moods are the same
- instinctive fondness develops when one finds sth in common with anoth
- this same effect is replicated by mirroring
- need to tune in to the oth’s movements and imitate them, not mimic them.
- these actions shldn't be done in the same pace as his/hers. Otherwise, the person might take it instead as mockery
- mirror actions shld be done aft 10-20 sec and must be done naturally
- mirror actions show the oth tt you accept and respect their views without them noticing
- one will subconsciously see you as an open-minded person
3. Other Flirting Signals
- tend to face anoth more when one is interested in the person they’re talking to
- also noticeable in a person’s arms and legs
- legs, knees, or feet are always extended in the direction of anoth when one’s attention is completely focused on anoth
- pupils increase in size and tend to blink more when one like what they see
- eyes can blink in sync when looking into the eyes of the person they like.
