Watched the long anticipated Lee Ang’s “Lust, Caution” today.
Mixed review abt this movie which I agreed some of them.
Most of the sexual content which is 9 min long is removed like the PG drama on TV. The movie din run so smoothly as expected. Can only see the start of sexual scene then jumped to another scene. The feeling of incompleteness of the movie may be also due to psychological effect as I know some sexual content will be cut off. Maybe doing it for really for Lee Hom’s younger fan bases/audience or some commercial reasons?
The female lead, Wong Jia Zhi by Tang Wei transformed herself from a sweet sch girl to a maturm, charming woman tt managed to seduce Mr Yee, by Tong Leong. Can see tt Tong Leong has aged abit. He is still as charming as ever. Kuang Yu Min, by Lee Hom seems so kid-ish among the actors. The audience giggled when he speaks his English/American accented Chinese. It is weird aft all it is in the 1940s Shanghai.
Wong scarified herself and others for love. Is it worthwhile?
There is a scene tt Wong fully described the sexual experience she had with Yee. She is not a willing party initially but gave in to him cos of the country and subsequently due to love. Amazed tt actually Yee had developed feeling for Wong too. He seemed to be serious abt Wong. Wong was very touched when Yee gave her a beautiful 6 carat diamond ring as a token of love. Yee almost cried at the end of the movie due to a decision he made. Yee and Wong were mutually in love.
Note:
Pls dun learn fr Kuang!!! Do express ur positive feeling for someone if any. Timing is impt. Sth cannot wait. Dun expect the person to know you so well and can read ur mind. Sth must be said to progress further.
Be brave!! Jia you to those who want to express/confess his feeling to the special one.
Overall the movie is nice but I believe the complete version will be better.
